The Galilee Basin project includes a number of Waratah Coal exploration licences covering an area immediately north of a known JORC-compliant measured and indicated resource of 2.1 billion tonnes.
The main thrust of the Waratah Coal exploration program is to prove the continuity of the known four seams – with the latest drilling at the South Alpha exploration licence EPC1040 confirming that all target coal seams extend into Waratah Coal's licences.
The deepest holes to the west of the project contain all seams with total intersection of approximately 15–19 metres.
The company said further drilling would enable a compliant resource estimation to be delivered in late June 2007.
